CURTAILMENT ASSESSMENT

Renewable generation projects can be subject to export curtailment due to a number of grid constraints, like intertrips, Active Network Management (ANM) schemes, line outages, overloads and more. We have carried out many curtailment analysis jobs to assess the amount of curtailment, downtime and energy loss for wind and solar generation, using publicly available generation and load data, or even the DNO’s own assessment as a starting point. With this analysis we have assisted developers to make an informed financial decision about the viability of the project – or even challenge the assumptions and curtailment figures of the DNO!
