ELECTRICAL DESIGN

We can support your renewable energy projects with the electrical design process, from an initial conceptual design to a more detailed preliminary FEED (Front End Engineering Design) that can be used for the EPC phase and to come to a final investment decision (FID).

  • Conceptual design

A conceptual electrical design can inform the main parameters of the connection, the design requirements, the connection arrangements, the electrical equipment required, taking into account the client requirements and the relevant codes and recommendations.

  • Preliminary design (FEED)

The preliminary design stage (or FEED) is the next stage, to bridge the gap between the conceptual design and the final design phase. This follows up from the basic design and defines the details of the overall system configuration, the equipment list and specifications, the detailed design layout and installation plan, also taking into account best engineering practices and costs. The output of the FEED can be used for EPC (Engineering Procurement and Construction) tenders, and as the basis of the final design.

  • Design support

We can provide support with your renewable project’s design, including internal electrical layout (cable arrays, busbars, switchgear, transformers, renewable generator layout, protection), and the connection to the electricity grid.

  • Design review

We can also assess and review existing electrical designs, as part of the design process, or of a Due Diligence review, to ensure they are technically competent, feasible, and cost effective.
